Maurice is the co-founder and CEO of the groundbreaking and award winning music company Giant Step. Hailing from Manchester UK, he landed in New York and immediately immersed himself in club culture and the music of the city. While guiding Giant Step from a legendary underground club that introduced America to artists like Daft Punk, Massive Attack and Jamiroquai. A record label responsible for Nuyorican Soul, Ron Trent and many more. It is an award winning creative agency that’s worked with everyone from Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Janelle Monáe, EDITION Hotels, Samsung, Intel and ABSOLUT. Maurice used to DJ regularly in the early 1990s and after a long hiatus was persuaded to start playing again. He now has multiple residencies in New York, Brooklyn and Miami. Maurice’s DJ sets have also been enjoyed across Europe and Japan. Known as a strictly vinyl only DJ, his sets lean heavily into rare soul, funk, jazz and early disco. This is definitely for those who love great music and not the usual DJ set.
